The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will seek applications for India's next men's team head coach, as stated by board secretary Jay Shah.

The tenure of the current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid, will end after the T20 World Cup. According to reports, the BCCI secretary Jay Shah has stated that Dravid can reapply for the position if he wishes to do so.

Dravid, who took over in November 2021, was handed a short-term extension till the T20 World Cup after his two-year contract expired at the end of India’s loss in the final of the ODI World Cup last November.

Shah confirmed the new head coach will be offered to take charge till the ODI World Cup in 2027.

“Rahul Dravid’s tenure is till the World Cup, we will be inviting applications soon for the post of head coach and if Dravid wants to re-apply, he can do it. We have decided the criteria. Thereafter we will invite applications for support staff in consultation with the Cricket Advisory Committee. The coach’s tenure will be of three years,” Shah said.
