Australia’s legend and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Mike Hussey reckoned that Mustafizur Rahman's exclusion in the middle of the tournament would be a blow for the team. He emphasized the difficulty of finding a suitable replacement for fizz in the death overs.

Mustafiz found his form back with his new franchise Chennai and has been crucial due to the death overs for the team.
As he is currently in the sixth position in the highest wicket-taker list with 11 wickets in 6 matches in the tournament.

Mustafiz will have to leave Chennai’s camp for his national duties as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided not to extend his No Objection Certificate (NOC) for more days. However, later they extended his contract for just one day until May 1.

“He [Mustafizur Rahman] has got that wonderful slower ball, which is hard to hit particularly here in Chennai. We will be sad when he goes [back to Bangladesh], but his country is calling. We want to keep him for as long as we can. We have been delighted with his output so far," said Hussey.

According to Hussey, Chennai’s biggest challenge would be to find a new bowling combination and also a suitable option to replace Mustafiz.

Meanwhile, 35-year-old bowler Richard Gleeson has joined CSK for the remainder of the IPL, so the coach remained optimistic about the English cricketer to fill the void.

Richard Gleeson, a 35-year-old bowler, has joined CSK for the remainder of the IPL, and the coach is optimistic that the English cricketer will be able to fill the vacancy.

“Biggest challenge would be finding a best combination and then remaining consistent with that so we gonna have some challenges along the way. Mustafiz will leave shortly, we gonna have to find another death option. Richard Gleeson is joining us which is gonna be a very good signing for us,” he added.
