Abu Haider celebrates seven-wicket haul to hand Mohammedan big win

Mohammedan Sporting Club thrashed Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy by nine wicket in their Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar today.

Mohammedan chased down the target in just 6.2 overs, with Imrul Kayes scoring 19 and Rony Talukdar 12 runs respectively while Mahidul Isalm Ankon was unbeaten on 5.

Earlier, pacer Abu Hider Rony ripped through the Gazi batting line-up with a seven-wicket haul to bundle them out for a mere 40 runs.

Rony returned a figure of seven wickets in a six-over spell spending 20 runs, while spinner Nasum Ahmed took the remaining three wickets to bowl out Gazi Tyres for the third-lowest total ever in List A cricket in Bangladesh.

In another low-scoring match of DPL, Abahani Limited emerged victorious against Legends of Rupganj by eight wickets at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS), Narayanganj.

Mossadek Hossain Saikat fired with an 18-ball 48 comprising five boundaries and four sixes and opener Anamul Haque Bijoy scored 37 off 34 in their chase of 100 runs.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib grabbed a fifer, and Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed took five other wickets to restrict Rupganj to 99 runs.
