Cummins appointed as SRH captain for IPL 2024

Australian skipper Pat Cummins has been appointed as the new captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise for the forthcoming IPL 2024 season.
The franchise confirmed the appointment via its official social media handles with a picture of Cummins captioned “#OrangeArmy! Our new skipper Pat Cummins.”
Cummins, who was roped in by the franchise for a staggering sum at the IPL 2024 auction last December, will be replacing South Africa batter Aiden Markram.
The fast-bowling icon led Australia to World Test Championship victory in June 2023, followed by retaining the Ashes in England and later leading them to the ICC ODI World Cup title win in India.
The 2016 winners will kick off the IPL 2024 campaign on March 23 against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, followed by playing its first home match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on March 27 against five-time champions Mumbai Indians.
