The Australian squad has arrived in Dhaka to play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The visitors travelled to Bangladesh in two separate groups on the day of arrival.

Australia come into the tour on the back of a 2-1 ODI series defeat to Pakistan and will be looking to bounce back during their stay in Bangladesh.

The tourists are without their experienced pace trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood for this series.

In the ODI squad, pace-bowling all-rounder Liam Scott has earned a call-up, while left-arm spinner Joel Davies has been included in the T20I squad.

Despite being fit, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis have been left out of the T20I squad.

Their omission has fuelled speculation that selectors are moving forward with long-term plans without the two experienced all-rounders. After stepping away from ODI cricket, both players now face uncertainty regarding their future in the shortest format as well.

Steven Smith has also been excluded from the T20I squad. Although he was part of Australia’s setup as a reserve during the last T20 World Cup, he did not feature in a match.
