Bangladesh national team bowling coach Shaun Tait has resigned from his position, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Thursday.

According to the BCB, the former Australia fast bowler stepped down due to family reasons. Although Tait had initially expressed a willingness to continue in a reduced capacity, both parties later agreed that his departure was the most suitable decision. The separation was described as amicable and mutual.

Tait joined the Bangladesh coaching staff in May 2025 and played a key role in developing the country’s fast-bowling unit. During his tenure, he worked closely with the pace attack, helping improve their skills, consistency and overall performance across formats.

The BCB said Tait contributed significantly during a period in which the national team produced several notable performances.

In a statement, Tait said it had been a privilege to work with the Bangladesh team and praised the commitment of the players and staff. He added that he was proud of the progress made by the pace bowlers and wished the team success in the future.
