Talha is also expected to continue in the role for Bangladesh's subsequent series against Zimbabwe as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) looks for a long-term replacement for pace bowling coach Shaun Tait.
Reports in recent days suggested that Tait was no longer interested in continuing with Bangladesh, casting doubt over his availability for the Australia series.
Those concerns have now materialised, with the former Australian speedster set to miss the upcoming assignment.
Tait is understood to be interested in joining the coaching staff of Bengal in Indian domestic cricket and has already attended an interview for the position.
The former Australia pacer has reportedly informed the BCB of his situation and is believed to have cited family reasons for his reluctance to continue in the role.
Despite being contracted with the BCB until the 2027 ODI World Cup, Tait's future with Bangladesh remains uncertain. He joined the national team as pace bowling coach in May 2025.
Australia are scheduled to tour Bangladesh from June 9 to 21 for a white-ball series. The three ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on June 9, 11 and 14.
The teams will then travel to Chattogram for a three-match T20I series at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, with matches scheduled for June 17, 19 and 21.
