Resuming Day 2 on eight not out, Litton was dismissed for 33 after attempting an ambitious pull shot off Mohammad Abbas. The delivery, bowled outside the off stump in the 97th over, was mistimed and comfortably caught by Amad Butt at mid-on.
Before his dismissal, however, Litton reached the 2,000-run landmark in World Test Championship cricket.
He achieved the feat in 31 Tests and 55 innings, scoring 2,009 runs at an average of 37.20, including four centuries.
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim sits second on Bangladesh’s WTC run-scoring list with 1,876 runs from 48 innings in 26 Tests at an impressive average of 43.62.
Like Litton, he also has four centuries and could cross the 2,000-run mark during the ongoing Pakistan series.
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto is third on the list with 1,655 runs from 57 innings in 30 Tests, including five hundreds.
