The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken a significant step toward its upcoming election, announcing key decisions during the third meeting of its ad-hoc committee held on Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

As part of the move, the board confirmed that the election process will begin shortly, with a formal notice to be issued inviting nominations for councillors across all categories in line with Article 12.7 of the BCB Constitution. This marks the first official step toward organizing the next BCB election.

To oversee the process, the board has approved the formation of a three-member Election Commission.

The commission will include one representative from either the Ministry of Youth and Sports or the National Sports Council (NSC), along with two members nominated by the BCB.

In another administrative decision, the board dissolved the existing ad-hoc committees of the regional cricket associations in Chattogram, Sylhet, and Barisal with immediate effect, signaling a broader restructuring ahead of the election.

Meanwhile, the BCB also confirmed a commercial development, approving Coca-Cola Bangladesh as its Official Drinking Water and Beverage Partner for the next two years.
