Bangladesh pacer Musfik Hasan earned his maiden spot in the squad for the upcoming one-off Test match against Afghanistan. The youngster stated that he is inspired to be in the full-fledged roaster and his favorite player is Kagiso Rabada.

The 20-year-old was added to the pace bowling unit of the Bangladesh team, with spearheads like Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Ebadot Hossain and Hasan Mahmud.

The young pacer said that the pace bowling department of the Bangladesh team is his biggest inspiration. His favorite bowler, however, is South Africa's Kagiso Rabada.

“I get inspiration from the pace bowlers of the national team. But I follow (Kagiso) Rabada,” Musfik told the media.

Mushfiqur credited his performance in first-class cricket for making it to the national team, saying, 'First of all I am thankful that I got a chance in the national team. Alhamdulillah. I think, I was picked because I played well in first-class cricket.'

“I have played in the 'A' team just as I have played in NCL and BCL in first-class cricket. If I get a chance in the national team, I will continue to play like that,” he added.

The right-handed pacer picked up 33 wickets in 9 first-class matches and scalped 15 in 13 List-A matches.

Bangladesh are set to play the one-off Test match against Afghanistan, starting on June 14 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
