The venue for the Asia Cup 2023 cricket tournament is uncertain, as the tournament is expected to be moved out of Pakistan and held in the UAE.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) held a meeting in Bahrain on February 4, which was attended by ACC chief Jay Shah and Pakistan Cricket Board chief Najam Sethi, Nazmul Hassan Papon and others.

While a decision on the venue was not made at the meeting, the ACC stated in a statement that they had a "constructive dialogue" on the tournament and will continue discussions to ensure its success. The final decision on the Asia Cup host will be made at another ACC meeting in March 2023.

"The ACC had a constructive dialogue on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The Board agreed to continue discussions on operations, timelines and any other specifics with a view to ensuring the success of the tournament. An update on the matter would be taken on the next ACC Executive Board Meeting to be held in March 2023," the ACC said in a statement.

Pakistan have the hosting rights for the 50-over tournament, which will be played in the lead-up to the World Cup in India. However, Indian cricket board (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah had said they will take part in the neutral venue.
