ICC Player of the Year
Stokes named ICC Test Cricketer of the year 2022

The ICC Test Cricketer of the Year for 2022 is England captain Ben Stokes. Since taking over as captain ahead of the English summer, the England Men's captain has excelled in the role, winning nine of his 10 games in charge and reviving the team's fortunes.
Stokes scored 870 runs at an average of 36.25 across 15 games in 2022, hitting two hundreds and four 50s. He scored just under 100 fours and 26 sixes thanks to his aggressive batting style.
With the ball, he took 26 wickets at a strike rate of 31.19, conceding fewer than three runs per over.
But Stokes stood out even more due to his leadership. The Durham all-rounder oversaw a revolution in the way Test cricket is played alongside new coach Brendon McCullum.
Stokes' team averaged 5.50 runs per over in the historic 3-0 series victory in Pakistan before Christmas, and the aggressive batting was matched by the captain's confident decision-making.
In a high-scoring contest in Rawalpindi, Stokes' inspired declaration gave England the opportunity to win the game as the sun was setting. This victory will go down as one of England's greatest away victories.
