Three more individuals taking part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been tested positive for Covid-19, which includes two foreign players and one local support staff member.

They are instructed to observe a 10-day quarantine, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Director Media and Communications Samiul Hassan Burney.

“Today’s match between Quetta and Islamabad will go ahead as scheduled. We have conducted 244 PCR tests since yesterday, which returned three positive Covid-19 results. Two of these are foreign players while one is a local support staff member,” Said Burney.

“Test will be conducted on coming Thursday as well,” he added.

Burney also confirmed that the arrangements in order to keep the players and support staff have been fool-proofed.

“All we need to understand is that even though we have some positive cases, it doesn’t mean that the bubble is not effective. You can look at what happened in different sporting events like NFL, NHL, Formula 1, Premier League and so on. There were positive cases there as well but that doesn’t mean their arrangements are not fool-proofed.”

However, 50 per cent crowds will be allowed in stadiums to attend matches till March 16.
